Having gained knowledge and experience while studying at Rutgers and Fordham Universities, Daniel brings a wide array of skills to his work with clients. Additionally, Daniel received supervision at Rutgers Graduate School of Applied Psychology in Play Therapy. Adding to these experiences, Daniel worked for many years at UMDNJ-University Behavioral Healthcare (Now Rutgers University Behavioral Healthcare-RUBHC) with children and adolescents, as well as adults, in the psychiatric inpatient hospital, partial care, and therapeutic day school settings. Daniel is trained and Certified by EMDRIA (Eye-Movement Desensitization Reprocessing) as a Level II Certified EMDR Clinician since 2012. He uses the approach to therapy for recovering from any degree of psychological trauma, as well as severe stress and anxiety reactions among other sequelae. Neurofeedback training was introduced into the practice in 2017 after Daniel completed the Basic, and soon after, the Neuroptimal Brain Training System Advanced Certification. This service can be accessed in training-only sessions with a neurofeedback certified technician or while in a talk therapy session combined with the licensed clinical therapist. Daniel Zykorie, LLC also offers non-clinical access to neurofeedback sessions onsite, as well as monthly system rentals for personal, family or commercial use and offsite contracting for neurofeedback services for facilities, schools, and businesses.

With more than 20 years of education, training, and working in the field of behavioral health and special education services, Daniel’s experiences are rich and varied. Daniel has provided counseling support to regular and special education students for many years in hospitals, special out of district schools, and public schools. These experiences have given Daniel a broad and unique perspective on typical and atypical behavior, life-span development, and functioning. In 2003, Daniel first opened his private practice in East Brunswick, while continuing to work for RUBHC in the therapeutic day schools as a therapist and case manager. In 2005, Daniel accepted a position as a School Social Worker, a member of the Child Study Team, across several of the Middletown Township Public School District's numerous elementary schools. In this role, he provided crisis intervention, individual and group counseling, behavior plan development, staff training, implementation support and progress monitoring, as well as, classroom behavior support to students as required by their IEP for special education. In 2011, Daniel left his position in the schools after moving his family and his private practice to Manalapan, where he devoted his energy to his growing full-time private counseling practice. Since 2014, Daniel has established his current private practice located at 501 Iron Bridge Road Suite 15 in Freehold, nearby Centrastate Medical Center. The thriving and expanding practice of Daniel Zykorie, LCSW, LLC & Associates, along with it's non-clinical neurofeedback delivery service, offers some of the most advanced and up-to-date approaches to child, adolescent, adult, family and couples counseling, brain training for mind, body, relationship, recovery, and support for overall health and well-being for clients and their families. There are times in life where people will seek counseling because they feel disconnected in their relationships, are struggling with difficult situations and emotions, or long to live a life that feels meaningful, satisfying and authentic. Counseling can help you navigate through this transformative time in your life.
With a degree in Mental Health counseling from Seton Hall University, I am prepared to help you navigate through this transformation. It would be my honor to work with you on this path towards health and healing.
My therapeutic approach is client-centered and humanistic focusing on offering my clients unconditional positive regard, compassion, and a good sense of humor when appropriate. I offer an eclectic approach of modalities that will best fit the needs of the client. Some of the therapeutic modalities used include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT), Neurofeedback using the Neuroptimal Advanced Brain Training System, Narrative therapy, Solution-focused therapy, Existential and Adlerian approaches as well as Mindfulness and coping skills training for stress management and other struggles. I also have a Masters in Educational Theatre from NYU, and utilize Creative Arts Therapeutic modalities as well.
I have 30+ years combined experience in education and counseling with adolescents and adults dealing with many mental health concerns such as anxiety, depression, trauma, school and work challenges, life or identity transition issues, struggles with family and other relationships, as well as barriers to social satisfaction. I have worked for many years as a counselor for high school youth and their parents with an additional focus working with the LGBTQ+ population. I work in private practice with adolescents, adults, couples and families.

My name is Jason Suleski and I’ve been working in the field of social work for over 25 years. In addition to doing private therapy I’ve been working in Millstone Township Public Schools for almost 15 years as a school social worker. I consider it an important privilege to be able to listen to people and help them on their own personal journey to wellness. I enjoy working with all types of clients and issues. I have spent a great deal of my professional career working with children and families and I consider this to be a speciality area for me. I have many interests outside of the office including spending time with family and friends, doing anything outdoors, making art and watching live music.
